Last year, Abbycare sponsored our Buddy Walk. Unfortunately, they were unable to attend and share information about their services. This webinar is an opportunity to learn more.
Abbycare serves children who live in Massachusetts, ages ~2.5-18 who have MassHealth as a primary or secondary insurance. The child also has to have at least two activities of daily living that require hands-on support (i.e. feeding, bathing, toileting, etc.). https://www.abbycare.org/
Click on this link to register for the webinar and you will receive a zoom link via email.
Our next big gathering is the Annual Western Mass Buddy Walk.
The toddler group and the school age group are meeting together and having a wonderful time! Join us for a fun-filled morning of play and sharing!
We will meet on the third Saturday of every month at Center Church in South Hadley, hosted by Emily Mulder. Emily is a mom of a 9 year old child with Down syndrome (Amos), a former special education teacher, and a huge fan of Center Church.
We will meet in the fellowship hall there from 10 to 11:30 am. The fellowship hall is a large gym like area, which is handicapped accessible through the entrance on the north side of the church. There are elevators to the restrooms. We will have several different activity stations set up in the fellowship hall, including a puppet area, an art area, and an area for younger children with toys appropriate to that age group, and a dance area. We ask that parents stay, both to enjoy watching children and to connect with one another. Families who have children with Down syndrome of different age group groups are very welcome to attend.
The meeting place is located at 1 Church Street in South Hadley. Please reply to Emily Mulder at emilymulder@gmail.com or Anna O'Rourke at afyorourke@gmail.com with questions, or RSVP for attendance. You can reach Emily at emilymulder@gmail.com, or at 802-282-7790.
